Merry Christmas to all!

I love this time of year. The chill in the air the twinkling lights on the homes and the tree shinning through the windows. Their is a jingle in my step as I go down the isle of the stores singing along to the Christmas songs being played of the sound system. I enjoy looking in peoples carts to see what they are buying. I also dreed taking my little ones with me as they spy all the fun toys and gifts and say "Please can I get this" I reply "No, I am not buying anything today. Santa will have to bring it to you, so hug it tight and make a wish to Santa so that he will know this is something on your list."
We have had a few funny things happen so far this year pertaining to Christmas. We draw names with in my little family. Mike has Hailey and I think this is the 3rd year in a row that he has had her name. I truely has happened by chance. Then Sadie has Katie. We were in the store and Katie was checking out the Little Pet Shops, her favorite toys. Anyhow, Katie turns to Sadie with a handfull of animals saying "Sadie this is what you are giving me for my present" Sadie replys "yes. I will get you this. I got you a good gift you will be surprised" and tosses them in the cart. Then we found out we have a dog in our house a "Snoop Dog". She sometimes goes by the name of Maycie. Well Maycie is 11 years old and apprently does not like surprises anymore. Mike caught her snooping in his trunk. She told me someone had knocked and left a box on the front door for her (UPS) from Amazon. She also was caught searching my closet and had found some items. We came home a little earlier than expected and then she found a suspecious box in the workout room. Good Heck Santa better get to it and be alot more creative in hide and not so easy in the seek part. I gave Maycie the 3rd degree all the while she is bawling. I told her to quit her bawling that I had found her snooping and not smoking so stop her snooping and stop her crying. I came home with a early perfect gift for her. Wrapped it up and had her open it. A t-shirt reading "I am on the naughty list" I told her for her punishment she will wear this once a week until Christmas has arrived. She stared at me and saying "NO, I will if they have a shirt saying I am on the Nice list" Uh this wont work so I guess the shirt goes back. The rotten bugger. So far Christmas is off with a bang! Merry Christmas to you all.

NEWS FLASH..........

NEWS FLASH.......................... Sadie is still on the bink. Ugh! I know you think we are wimps but actually we weren't being very nice. The day she lost the binky's which lead to us getting rid of them she was sick, very sick all around up and down in and out you get the idea. Two days into it she never cried for it and went to bed without it. The third day Aunt Jayne came over and seen how sick she was and said "oh, poor little girl don't take the binky away she needs it." I though no way she has done fine and not cried but then she fell and got hurt later that day and would not stop crying for it. Mike and I felt mean. So off he went to restock our supply. In the meantime I got her side tracked and was just heading to take her on a drive. Big sister Maycie saw the big green ugly thing and said here does she want this? SURE! And so you see she got it back and is now better. DANG!! It reminds me of a crying kid in sacrement meeting. As soon as you take the kid out they are happy you go back in and they start to cry. Crazy. I will start next week on this monster thing. I hope she will be happy at the inlaws for Thanksgiving. Oh well if not give them Hell Sadie.

No more BINKIS

Today is the day. Over the several weeks we have lost and mike has bought new Binky's. Last night Sadie has 3 Binky's carrying them around and when it was bed time..........no Binky's to be found. So Mike was offering to go buy some more. Hell no I am sick of this Binky and sick of looking for them. As bedtime came (11:00 p.m.) Sadie asked for the Binky I told her she lost them. She fell asleep and slept without asking or crying or demanding it. Yahoo! So today is the last of those ugly dumb things. Good riddance. Now I know why I never gave them to my older kids. What a pain.

Thanksgiving Time

It is Thanksgiving time again. I love this time because of the weather changing and seems like you just want to stay home and cook soup in the crock pot. This is also another time of year that seems to say "Eat Me...........I can't I am already stuffed" Yes I am off to a diet again. I don't know if it is to make room for the yummy dinner and Christmas goodies or if it is the photos I discovered and there I was a skinny mom and Pre-mom. Mike and I laughed in amazement at how in shape and looking good we were. Dang! So later on I don't think we were laughing as much as realizing we better get with it. We have all the equipment just not so much energy after taking care of our family. Anyhow So bring it on.

Halloween Night

Halloween night was a Howling with fun. Conner headed out to a party. Hailey headed out with friends trick or treating and party. Maycie headed out with her friend Chloe to trick or treat. Maycie had a goal of getting at least 200 pieces of candy. She succeed with 265. Mike and I took the little girls out around the neighborhood started off together. Next thing I know is Katie and I are treating together at the west side and Mike and Sadie treating on the east side. We meet back home exhausted and ready for a treat. The two older girls had sleep overs at their friends and me and the little girls went to bed while Mike waited up to go pick up the big boy at midnight. Mike was hunkering for a midnight snack and hit Beto's. I guess thats what the big boys do to bond, EAT.

Descisions, Descisions??????????????

October was full of decisions on what to wear or have mom make for Halloween. Hailey was Muscle Women/American Gladiator. Sadie decided far in advance she was going to be a pig, a flying pig. Katie was going to be a deer (who comes up with a deer) so we went and bought the material for it. Good thing I waited to make it because she changed her mind and decided she would be her cat from last year. Like a good and tired mom I gladly agreed to this. Maycie wanted to be Belle with the big flowing yellow gown. I was in trouble from the start. Those of you who know Maycie know that she is a BIT PICKY the littlest things bug her, like texture a loose strand of hair and a string from her sock. Trying to please her I set out and sewed her dress up a few days before the family party (a week before Halloween) Well I just didn't have it quit the way she had in visioned in her head. (Surprise to me.............not really) for a few frustrated hours between her and me and Hailey(who is sticking her nose in to everything. But being my sounding board) We get passable for her. I told her nicely and with a firm voice to never ask her sweet mother to sew another costume again. Well family party comes and Hipp Hipp Horray for a fun night. It is nearing time to go and Maycie had split her dress down the side. I sewed it up and she wears it to the ward party. She calls me from school friday asking me to bring her some clothes to change in her dress had tore again. I told her princess were not to be running around on playgrounds. To tell you the truth I could have cared less what happened to the dress. I took over a few choices of clothes plus costumes and she chose my jr. cheerleader outfit. GOOOOOOOOOOOO Maycie!

September falling into October

Yeah I know I am missing the month of September. My Birthday month. BOO HOO! Let me just tell you I am glad that it has came and gone. Busy, Busy, Busy. I had a great birthday. Mike bought me a new pair of Jamas he was sick of seeing me wear my t-shirt with the hole in the back. Thanks Mike now I look pretty. We celebrated Katie's 5th birthday. She was so excited to finally have her big day and to get her presents. One little girl came without a present (her mom was out getting it and would bring it to her later) anyhow after the party katie says "Madison is not my friend no more. She forgot to give me a present" Well Madison dropped by a gift monday. A cute silver purse filled with lipsticks and fake fingernails with polish. She is in girl heaven. Thank goodness. We are headed to Vegas for UEA and we cant wait to get out of town and rest in sin city or rather become sinners in Vegas oh yeah the kids are comming I forgot we will be Saints. ha! Well the girls have me busy with making their costumes for Halloween.........I have bousht the material but thats as far as I have gotten plus Katie has decided not to be a deer and now the brown material will sit for another year or two. I have been busy with quilts everyone has gotten me their christmas gifts early this year. Football is still going strong to bad they don't have a real strong team this year but hey- the kids are having a ball and the coaches maybe discouraged but they to are enjoying the kids. The sophmore team meets at One Man Band to eat the night before a game. They help the one man guys sweep the floor and wipe down the tables before they leave. funny! Softball is winding down about another month and we will be done. Katie is enjoying Preschool and Saide well she wishes she could go. Maycie loves 6th grade but can't wait for 7th or at least to join young womens. Me to... it is going to be a great month.

School Days

Football season. This means the weather is changing and soon the leaves on "G" Mountain will be dotted with red, yellow and orange leaves. The kids have started school with Maycie in 6th grade big kid at the elementary and Hailey 8th grade. Loving every minute of jr.high and Conner has started Pleasant Grove High. He is in school heaven. He loves going to school and being among the cool kids at school and spying those cutie pattotie's. He rides the bus thankgoodness. His first story about the bus was it broke down the first day of school and I was called to come pick him up. Then a few days later it was full when he got on and looked at everyone and said real coolly "move over people your looking at a football player" the rows of kids slid over just to make room for the studly football kid. Yeah right, I can't believe he said that. He must be feeling real good about himself in highschool I think I would have shouted out "shut up and sit down" Funny! Katie starts her second year of preschool Yahoo! Wednesday is her big day or should I say Moms big day. Just me and little Sadie. She is going to be bored. I love school. Mike is not enjoying his homework. He helps the kids with their math. I laugh that he is still doing homework.

Happy Birthday Mike! August 15th. B-Day #39!

This month is my Mike's birthday I thought I would do a little tribute to the man who drives me crazy. Happy Birthday Mike. I love ya!

Monday, July 28, 2008

Okay so I am late with the month of July. I think this month has been a month for me. I first had my family reunion with all the Jensen family up to great old Grandpa Shinning Mountain. What a fun place to go and relax. It seems like time stands still when you are there. My kids had fun in the stream on the zip line and tire swing and getting reacquainted with their cousins. Love that place and the family. Then I finally broke out "my" scroll saw that Mike had bought me oh let say about 4 years ago for my birthday. So, I decided to cut me out a cute Statue of Liberty girl. (now the wind has knocked her over and she needs fixing ah, next year) Mike was so happy to see me using it or was he happy to have me get it out of the front room. Where it stayed under the table to remind me to use. Then our oven went out. Mike and I went to RcWilley and after much thought he purchased himself a double oven which he is so proud of and then of course OOPS. I was cleaning off the top of the cabinets and bang a vase fell on top of the stove and oh no! I knew and so did Conner who witnessed it that I was going to be handed a pen to sign for the divorce papers. I patched up the stove it looks real nice.
Mike and I got a scooter to help save on gas expense and to buzz Conner to and from the high school for Football practice and all around town to his friends house. Well we had the cute little scooter for 1 whole week I went to go pick up Conner put the little kick stand down, instead of the industrial stand it should go on. As soon as my foot touched the kick stand I knew that I should use the other one but like usual I brushed it off. When Conner and I came out from Bryan, his friends house we saw his uncle picking up the cute little scooter. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! If I would only listen to that still small voice. I was sick and once again Conner was there to remind me "dad is going to be madddddddd". I am starting to think that, that little saying "you can't have anything nice when you have kids". Well lets just add my name in there some where. So I have decided that August is going to be a fresh start for me and hopefully a happy month for Mike. That could be his birthday gift. A good old freebie gift. gotta love those.

catching up

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah I know I am slow. I guess I just am spending my time more wisely than you others. Not, just that the kids wont give me any free time.

Strawberry Days 2008

Every year we look forward to Good ol' Strawberry Days. Katie and Sadie were excited to ride the horse's. Katie was looking forward to the "RADIO" all year long as she would call it. She has finally got it down to the "RODEO". Katie was in cowgirl heaven the night we went to the rodeo. As we were leaving the rodeo grounds and heading to the car she said with a big grin "this is better than Disneyland" we all laughed and the older kids looked at her like she as if she really had ridden a bull that night and fell to have her head scrabbled. Conner helped out at Huckfin Days and Hailey and Maycie enjoyed the big fish pond trying to catch real fish in their butterfly nets. Next year mom will have to buy real fish nets. Their friends caught 3. Sadie loved holding the fish they caught and Katie well she loved playing with everyones dogs and just looking pretty in her swimsuit. It was a long hot day but was so much fun to see the kids enjoying time with each other and me catching up with some old friends. I think thats what I love most about Strawberry Days time is running into good school friends that I haven't seen for a while. It couldn't have been funner unless Mcmanus were here to be part of our fun.

A NEW START

HELLO FRIENDS AND FAMILY! WE ARE EXCITED TO BE SHARING OUR ALBRECHT FAMILY TIME WITH YOU.

WE ARE A BUSY BALLGAME FAMILY ALREADY THIS YEAR. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE SPRING BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL. DROPPING OFF THE KIDS TO PRACTICE AND PICKING THEM UP. I WAS WAITING FOR CONNER ONE DAY FINISHING UP BASEBALL PRACTICE. I FELT A WARMTH OF EXCITEMENT AND BUTTERFLY'S RUN THROUGH ME AS I LOOKED AROUND AT THE SIGNS OF EARLY SPRING AND THE SIGHT OF BASEBALL DIRT, LARGE GREY METAL BACKSTOPS, GREEN FIELDS FILLED WITH CUTE YOUNGMEN LAUGHING AND RUNNING AFTER THE BALL THAT HAD JUST BEEN HIT. THE SOUND OF LAUGHTER AMONG THE PLAYERS AND THE GOOD OLD SOUND OF THE BALL HITTING THE BAT, AH THE SOUNDS OF SPRING BALL! I REALIZED THAT I WAS A PROUD HAPPY MOM. WHEN DID I GROW UP TO BE OLD AND MY KIDS TOOK MY PLACE IN TIME, THE TIME I REMEMBER BEING THEIR AGE? YOUNG AND NOT A CARE IN THE WORLD, EXCEPT HAVING FUN!
